Ru-Ann’s Creations Nail & Lash Artistry are all about enhancing your natural beauty with healthy nails and correct nail care – Russian pedicures & manicures, individual eyelash extensions, volume lashes, Russian Volume Lashes and nail & fungus treatments and so much more.
Ru-Ann has dedicated her life since the age of 14 years; to Nail and Lash Artistry. She obtained her first certification in 2006 from Melody Smit, Planet Nails as Nail Technician. A trail of ensuing certificates lead her to her becoming an Educator in 2012. With the arrival of QD Queen Diamond Nails in SA in 2016, Ru-Ann opened QD Diamond Nail Shops in Centurion and Kempton Park. She completed her Russian Nail e-file, nail modelling Russian style, Animal Planet Nails, 3D Nails, Princess and 3D flower Nails training under Elena Lakutina over the next year to 2018.
❖Before Any Lash Appointment
- Do not wear any eye makeup or mascara as this will affect the retention of your extensions.
- Avoid any oil-based products around your eyes. Including eye cream and sunscreen.
- Do not arrive late this is imperative.
- No additional guest or children will be permitted.
Lash Extension Styles
1. Classic Lashes
This is the most natural lash look, perfect for when you only want some extra length and minimal volume. Classic lashes are individual extensions 0.10 or 0.15 in thickness added to each of the natural lashes. Various lengths and curves are used in order to create the perfect match for each client.
2. Wet Look
Wet look is when two 0.05 or 0.07 are combined together to create the illusion of a sleek and “wet” look. Perfect for adding volume, length, and some depth.
3. Hybrid Lashes
Hybrid Lashes are a combination of two different lash styles. The most common combination in South Africa is a mix of classic lashes and volume lashes. The desired look will always be discussed before the lash session starts.

4. Volume Lashes
“The Fluffy” look, this is a style to add depth, length and more texture with 0.05 or 0.07 even 0.03 at times; 3-8 of these can be put on one natural lash spread like a fan which creates the “fluff” soft look. Perfect for the client with strong healthy natural lashes and who wants to make a statement.
5. Whimsical Lashes
A combination of volume lashes with spurts of perfectly placed Wet look in between, to create that extra edge.
6. Russian Volume Lashes
Known as Mega Lashes perfect for stage and even everyday wear for some of us. Russian Volume is very over the top and in your face. Absolutely fantastic to make any bold personality pop.
7. Textured Lashes
A Perfect combination of all lash styles, lengths and thickness to create the perfect desired texture the client wants.
8. Peacock Lashes
Can only be one of your favourite colours or a mix of colours instead of the usual lash colour. You can also only add some to your usual set of lashes.
Customized Strip Lashes
Customized Strip Lashes are perfect for everyday wear or only when you feel like adding more to your makeup routine.
These can be made in any style the client prefers from Classic to Peacock or whatever combination the client prefers. Customized strip lashes are made according to the client’s eyelid length which we will guide you on how to measure.
Customized Strip Lashes come in a container to keep them safe in, correct adhesive and brush to comb them. We also have a client consult to teach each client the correct application of their custom set.
❖After Lash Appointment
- No gym, sauna, facials, swimming or bath/shower.
- Wash your hair prior to lash appointment of 24 hours later
- Keep lashes dry for optimal retention 24-48 hours after lash appointment
- Keep all oily based products away from eye and lash area for 24 hours.
- Do not touch, pull, rub or comb your lashes for 48 hours after appointment.
- Book your follow up appointment 2-3 weeks in advance to keep your extensions in peak condition.
