Rules of Engagement
Tattoo
Consultations
Body Art Initiative offers custom-designed tattoos following a free consultation.
We book consultation appointments for any day of the week except Mondays.
Fees
Body Art Initiative charges R850.00 per hour for tattooing. Although, we prefer to charge per commissioned piece. Our smaller, ‘Flash’ Tattoos are charged from R450 per tattoo.
Design & Booking Fees
Design Fee includes a max of 3 Design changes / following that, it’s R125 per change.
If no design is required, a deposit of R400 or R800 shall be requested for the Booking of your appointment as per the artists’ discretion and in relation to your specific quoted tattoo price.
These designs become your property; in case of your decision, not to have your tattoo done at our studio. Having paid your design deposit, we retain this as payment for these designs. Any further costs incurred to create your design can and will be added extra to your quoted and deposit price. You are liable for this payment before any designs shall be handed over to you in digital large format.
No changes to the design will be made directly before the tattoo
Cancellation of Appointments
Tattoo
Cancellation of appointment shall only be accepted no later than 5 days before the appointment. If an alternate appointment is made on the day of cancellation, we shall carry over the deposit to your next appointment date.
Cancellation of your appointment later than 5 days before the day of the service, you shall forfeit the deposit paid in advance and will have to re-deposit another booking fee for a new appointment.
Payment Tattoo
Cash or EFT Transfers are acceptable and preferred payment methods. If you deposit cash or pay in cash, you are responsible for cash deposit fees applicable to our bank account. All designs remain our property until paid for in full. Monies that remain outstanding by the client on the appointment date will be payable on the day and before you leave the studio.
We reserve the right to seek recovery of any monies remaining unpaid a day after the tattoo or piercing or any beauty services has been executed, via collection Agencies and/or through the Small Claims Court if the outstanding balance does not exceed R15000. 00 In such circumstances, you shall be liable for all additional administrative and/or legal costs.
Termination of Agreements and Refunds Policy

Both the Client and ourselves, have the right to terminate any Service Agreement for any reason, including the ending of services that are already underway.
No refunds shall be offered, where a Service is deemed to have begun and is, for all intents and purposes, underway. Notice of cancellation is required. Notification for instance, in person, via email, sms or what’s app will be accepted subject to confirmation in writing. The deposit or any monies paid upon quotation or booking an appointment or as a design deposit will be forfeited.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Authorized employees within the company are on a need-to-know basis only, using any information collected from individual customers. We constantly review our systems and data to ensure the best possible service to our customers. Parliament has created specific offences for unauthorized actions against computer systems and data. We will investigate any such actions with a view to prosecuting and/or taking civil proceedings in the event of any breach in the safekeeping of your data.

We will not sell, share, or rent your personal information to any third party or use your e-mail address for unsolicited mail. Any emails sent by this Body Art Initiative will only be in connection with the provision of agreed services and products.
