I’m Velvet, the resident tattoo artist at Body Art Initiative.

I love creating unique, custom tattoos that are designed around each client and their story. I find inspiration in Anime, Fantasy, and abstract art, with a particular love for vibrant, clean, and colourful tattoos. For me, tattooing is about taking an idea and turning it into something personal that you can carry with you.

My art journey began in 2020 when I studied at the Open Window Institute for Fine Arts and Digital Science, where I explored Graphic Design, Motion Design, and Fine Arts Illustration.

In March 2021, I took my first steps into the tattoo industry and began training with Jax. Since then, the journey has been incredible. After 6 years in the industry, I still love sitting down with a pencil and paper, hand-drawing designs and bringing ideas to life before they ever become a tattoo.

I’m always looking to learn, create, and push my art further one tattoo at a time.
